As our scavenger hunt takes you around a city you absolutely must notice everything from the architecture to the flowers to the people around you! You may be asked to search for a little known place in a city or to find out a special tidbit about a well-known spot. We might even ask you to interview someone to answer an Up-Side-Down question we absolutely must have answered. We promise, you’ll be a city expert! You will not return home trying to remember whether Tour Eiffel is on the Right Bank, the Left Bank or maybe even straddles the Seine. $15 (plus postage if needed) for the snail mail version in booklet format with accompanying binoculars. | Detailed Information We have the juiciest information about thousands of events, workshops, theatre performances, museums and their exhibits, parks, historic houses, even restaurants for each of our destinations cities. And all from a child's point of view. Our information has been carefully hand collected by our adventure staff and thoroughly screened for age appropriateness and family fun. We've then added some comments and descriptions from kids, parents and staff who have actually explored with us. They're the best critics. We'd love to add your experiences as well! | Interactive City Search Here's where the fun starts! It's simple. You decide what interests your child. Maybe it's snapping turtles, or gargoyles, or Norman Rockwell paintings. Visit one of our City Site maps and search. The result will be great places for your child to explore. And that's not all. Your search will even give you specific exhibits or events that are occurring there that also match his/her interests. Our City Site map will then show you the location of everything you've found that's of interest. If you want more detailed information about a place or an event, that's available too. If you have no idea what interests your child, we have a short interest inventory that will help you solve the mystery. You may be surprised at what you find out. If you would like to search for those places and events that everyone in your family (your son, the twin girls, your grandmother --- you get the idea) would enjoy exploring together, you can do that too. Now that's really fun! The results are always a bit up-side-down and wonderful. Just trust us. | Cutomized Itineraries This is the coolest! After you have selected places and events of interest to everyone in your family and dubbed them your "Favorites", you can click and drag them into a personal workspace just for your family to build your own itinerary or itineraries. You may include as many or as few people in an itinerary. You may create as many itineraries for as many cities as you like. You may save your itineraries in a "Scrapbook" and store them in our "Adventure Attic" and return in a few days or a few weeks or even a few months to work on them. After you have actually used your itinerary to explore a destination city, you can return to our attic to reminisce. Our customized Itinerary Builder is available with the services of a Children Concierge personal Adventure Planner ($120 per hour). |
| Consultation with an Adventure Planner A Children's Concierge Adventure Planner will help you create your own special adventures in our destination cities. She will help you find the very best and most perfect way to explore a destination combining the interests of all your family members. You want something very special for everyone. She will work with you as much or as little as you request. You may choose to use the cool interactive city search and itinerary building applications here on our site and then request an Adventure Planner to create one of our customized written Adventure Guides for each of your children. Or, you may prefer to have an Adventure Planner involved right from the beginning to help you build your itinerary. Many families work with a personal Adventure Planner just to make sure their itineraries makes sense or are "doable". Some families love having their personal Planner available if they need help as they explore their destination city. Some families request it all! Our Adventure Planners are all educators with museum experience or training who are experts in looking at cities in up-side-down ways just for families! Consultation with a Children's Concierge personal Adventure Planners is $120 per hour. |
| Customized Written Adventure Guides Can you imagine having a customized scavenger hunt for your visit to that historic home that your daughter thought was going to be soooo boring! Boy, will she be surprised! Or, maybe your son is into animals and could be tempted to help the guards of that famous gallery look for the barking dogs among the works of art there. Wouldn't it be nice if some of the sites on your itinerary could relate to and enhance your child's school curriculum ? What about related activities to try when you return to your hotel or to your own home. Would you be interested in knowing of great kids books that are related to the sites on your itinerary? How about related places to visit in other cities? Children's Concierge Adventures Planners are the best at this! Adventure Planners customize all suggested activities for each child in your family and coordinated them with your family's itinerary. They then organize their suggestions into a colorful printed Adventure Guide for each child. Customized written Adventure Guides are available only with the services of an Adventure Planner. | Kid's Adventure Kits You can't find out if you can see the Capital from the Lincoln Memorial without binoculars. How could you possibly find your way to that special bench in Central Park without a compass? And of course you can't be a real archeologist without a brush and a magnifying glass. It's not unusual to find art supplies, books, postcards, photographs for matching, a camera, binoculars, maps, a journal and writing utensils among a child's adventure equipment. Our adventure equipment is specifically chosen to enhance the activities suggested in your child's Adventure Guide. An Adventure Guide and all the related adventure equipment are packaged in an age appropriate kidspack just for your child. An Adventure Guide and it's accompanying equipment make a city absolutely interactive for your kids! A customized Kidspack with adventure equipment and a written Adventure Guides are available only through consultation with a personal Adventure Planner and are included free with this service. Consultation with an Adventure Planner is $120 per hour. Some families, not working with an Adventure Planner have requested that we create adventure equipment for their children that contains some of our favorite items. Kids packs assembled with this equipment are available for $45 each. |
